Get active: If you prefer land-based activity, look for public courts for beach volleyball, tennis or pickleball. Boardwalk and lakeside trails are popular routes for runners, rollerbladers and cyclists. If you want to get out on the water, look for designated areas to launch kayaks, canoes or stand-up paddleboards.
Urban centres offer plenty to do over the summer months, with cottage-style activities available in a convenient urban setting. As many cities continue to invest in their waterfronts, residents can expect more public spaces and family-friendly attractions in the years ahead.
